Two Social Munches in April

We’re making our munches monthly (hopefully), starting with meetups in Astoria and Wantaugh. Join new and old friends at our Always Welcome munches. Events are drop-in/drop-out; hang out for as long as you wish. Dress casual (and weather appropriate). No RSVP required. You’re invited, and you can bring a friend. Look for a Eutopia Rising sign, and possibly a pink snake.

Open to anyone, whether or not you’re an approved Lunar Voyager!

Tuesday, April 8:

Beer Garden at Bohemian Hall in Astoria, 6pm-9pm.
29-19 24th Avenue, Queens. Short walk from N/W subway.
Food and drink available for purchase. Outdoors under a roof; heatlamps available.

If well attended, expect these every second Tuesday going forward!

Thursday, April 10:

The Cup Coffeehouse in Nassau County, Long Island, 6-8pm.
3268 Railroad Ave, Wantagh, NY 11793. Across the street from the Wantagh LIRR Station, along the Babylon and Massapequa lines. Vegan-friendly.

Our safety policy applies to these events. Whether rain or shine, if you are feeling at all unwell on the day of the event, please stay home. Otherwise, we’re excited to see you there!

We’re planning several Always Welcome events the next few weeks: museum tours, an arcade visit, and chats over drinks and food! Meet us in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Jersey City, or Long Island.

Munch on March 18th – and other get-togethers!

The next installment in our Always Welcome munches will be held on Monday, March 18th at 6pm! We’ll be meeting at Pioneers Bar on 138 West 29th Street, Manhattan. The location is a dive bar with pool tables and giant Jenga games available. The space is large and wheelchair/walker accessible, and there are 3 gender-neutral bathrooms. Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks are available; the menu is up on their website. Bring a mask and good vibes!

For this indoors event, we require you to be fully up to date with your COVID vaccination (see https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html ). We require that each of our attendees get a 2023-24 updated vaccine before attending this event in the interests of everyone’s safety, particularly the immunocompromised members of our community.

In addition to vaccination you must take a rapid COVID test on the day of the munch, before you arrive at the venue. Please take a photo of your negative test and submit it to us in advance at https://airtable.com/shrq5j43q1C1hFYUO , or be prepared to show it at the door.

Looking for a casual way to meet other locals? Meet and greet at our Always Welcome outdoor social munch on Monday, February 19th, 2024 (President’s Day). Open to anyone, whether or not you’re an approved Lunar Voyager!

6:30 pm – 9 pm: Bryant Park, Manhattan. Meet at the steps of the NYPL on 5th Ave and 42nd St. Close to the Bryant Park B/D/F/M trains with the 5th Ave 7 train nearby. Citibike docks are available, as well as bathrooms.

We are starting the year off with an ode to cybernetic society. Attach your best enhancements and prepare to deep dive into the web so we can all hack the planet together. Dress code is whatever the word cyberpunk means to you: whether a combo of 90s grunge and metallics, futuristic Blade Runner leather, or even full-on Ghost In The Shell robotics. Get creative with it! We hope to see at least one electric sheep.

Looking for a casual way to meet other locals? Meet and greet at our outdoor social munches on Saturday, December 23rd and Saturday, December 30th. Both are open to anyone, whether or not you’re an approved Lunar Voyager.

🥙 Saturday, December 23rd, 2023, 5pm-9:30pm: Brooklyn Noosh, 988 Atlantic at Grand Ave, Prospect Heights. Food and drink available for purchase; Persian/burger restaurant. Backyard has fire pits. Close to the Atlantic Av–Barclays Ctr B/Q/2/3/4/5/LIRR and the Franklin Av C/S trains, and Citibike docks.

🍻 Saturday, December 30th, 2023, 5pm-9:30pm: Queens, Beer Garden at Bohemian Hall, 29-19 24th Avenue, Astoria. Trestle, 34-02 Broadway at 34th Street, Astoria. (Updated Dec. 30th because Beer Garden was closed.) Food and drink available for purchase. Heatlamps available. Short walk from N/W subway; Citibike docks just outside.
